July is upon us and it is time for the 2023 4-H Farm Credit Showmanship Circuit is just around the corner. We are pleased to have AgCarolina Farm Credit (formerly Cape Fear Farm Credit) and AgSouth Farm Credit (formerly Carolina Farm Credit) continue as our cosponsors. Both AgCarolina Farm Credit and AgSouth Farm Credit underwent mergers earlier in the spring hence the new names. We are appreciative of their continued support of this program and our 4-Hers.
This year the circuit Extension sanctioned shows are taking place in the following counties (but showman participation is open to all counties): Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Guilford, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Richmond, Robeson, Stanly, and Union counties. Participation is open to any active 4-Her anywhere (A $125 County fee applies to each county hosting a show, it will be a donation request for other counties with showmen only. It can be paid by a club, 4-H account, sponsor, etc.). You may post pictures and get updates from the 4-H Farm Credit Showmanship Circuit Facebook page.
Again this year, families will need to register for the Circuit and in that registration process indicate which shows they intend to attend, but you will not list out specific animals at this time. You will then need to refer to each of your chosen county’s rules and register for their shows separately by their individual deadlines (typically 14 days prior to their show date). Circuit registration will open on June 29 at 5:00 p.m. online. Please register by July 19, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. on Eventbrite for the Circuit. This deadline is absolute and we cannot take your registration once the website shuts down. We have extended the original registration deadline from July 14 to July 19 due to a technical issue. Please plan ahead!! It is $25 per showmen per species.
Please read each county’s rules very carefully. If you are not wanting to join the Circuit but would like to show in individual county shows there will be a separate registration sheet/process for that county. Please visit the link to those counties in which you wish to participate.
