There are several Mobile Processing units available for rental in North Carolina. Randolph County may not be the closest MPU available for you. The Center for Environmental Farming Systems has a map of MPU’s available for rent in NC.

Any and all renters must have attended a poultry processing training hosted by  N.C. Cooperative Extension before renting the unit the first time.

**You can attend other workshops aside from one held in Randolph County as long as it is with N.C. Cooperative Extension.**

All first time rentals with the Randolph County Equipment will need to have a brief walkthrough of it, as some is different than neighboring counties equipment.

The next poultry processing workshop to be hosted by Randolph County will be May 2, 2026 and registration is currently full. To be added to the email list to receive registration information for upcoming poultry processing workshops, please contact lauren_langley@ncsu.edu .  For a list of upcoming poultry processing workshops across NC please click here.

The unit is available for rental to anyone who has completed the training course on a first come, first serve basis. It is NOT only available to Randolph County Residents; however, the office reserves the right to direct producers to MPUs located closer to them.

*Equipment returned without being thoroughly cleaned will face a charge of $200. The user can be prohibited from future use of the MPU if there is more than one return in an unclean condition or the user does not pay the cleaning charge within 14 days of assessment.
