  • Promote the Affordable Connectivity Program program. Eligible households can get money to help pay for internet service and even money to help pay for devices.
  • The BAND-NC Initiative is a grant opportunity to work on developing a digital inclusion plan for every NC county. Many counties are already involved in this work but are always looking for collaborators. Contact Kenneth Sherin if you would like to find the BAND-NC grantee in your county.
  • Washington State Extension Model:  Broadband Action Teams (BAT). Contact Kenneth Sherin if you are interested implementing in this model.
  • Digital Navigator  A new model for helping communities in digital inclusion efforts. Contact Kenneth Sherin if you are interested implementing in this model.
  • Digital Inclusion Planning Lead a community-wide digital inclusion project.

In general N.C. Cooperative Extension can play an important role in broadband access, adoption, and utilization across North Carolina by focusing on ways to use broadband resources beyond entertainment and connection to increase opportunities in education, productivity, wellness, and commerce.
