This workshop provides recipes for master convenience mixes that you can make and keep on hand. These mixes are healthier and less expensive than the packaged convenience mixes you buy in the store, and allow you to control the amount of fat, sodium, sugar and additives in your foods without sacrificing the convenience of a mix.
Everyone will make their own convenience mixes and receive additional recipes for making many more.

Since eggs can be used in so many different ways to make so many different things, they’re called a versatile food. Because eggs are so versatile, some chefs call eggs “the cement that holds together the castle of cuisine” (a fancy word that means cooking).
With so many ways to eat eggs, your favorite way could be a recipe for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. It could also be a main dish, side dish or dessert. Eggs can be used for any meal of the day and for any part of a meal.
Pre-registration and $5 pre-payment is required.

Join other K-8 classroom and nonformal educators as we explore activities in the Project Learning Tree K-8 Curriculum Guide. Every participant will leave the workshop with the PLT K-8 Activity Guide which includes 96 activities correlated to the NC Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards. The PLT activity guides are provided free of charge to participants through support from the NC Forestry Association. CEU renewal credits are available. This workshop qualifies for Criteria I in the EE Certification Program.

Differentiated instruction? Technology connections? Literature links? STEM? The PLT activity guide covers it all!!! The PreK-8 guide is correlated to the Common Core (math and ELA) as well as to the NC Essential Standards (science and social studies). Participants will learn about the materials through direct engagement in the PLT activities throughout the workshop. Please bring a bag lunch and prepare to be outside!

Please make a personal commitment to attend to ensure there are enough materials and space for everyone. Parking directions will be sent prior to the workshop. Cancellations made by October 17th will receive a $10 refund. Cancellations after this date will not receive a refund.
