Showing Animals:  2/15/2021, 6–7 p.m.

Have you ever wanted to learn about Showing Animals? Come join this introductory session and learn some of the basics of showing cattle, sheep and horses. Discover some tips and tricks for showing, Horsin’-Around will be permitted especially during the games.

4-H Pet Parade:  2/20/2021, 6–6:45 p.m.

On February 20, we celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, a day to embrace one special trait that makes us human: our love of our pets! Whether cats, dogs, birds, turtles, or hedgehogs, our furry friends are showered with love and affection on this day! Bring your pet (big or small) to our 4-H Pet Parade. We can’t wait to meet them! *If you don’t have a pet – no problem – come and watch. You will have the opportunity to share some fun facts about your pet and hear from others too! See you there!

It’s a Tea Party: 2/25/2021, 6–6:30 p.m.

Good Manners cost nothing. But while these gifts are free to give, the simple offerings of being polite and kind — like saying please and thank you, listening carefully, and making eye contact with people —
can bring huge benefits to ourselves and those around us. You’ll learn how to set a table and proper etiquette during a tea party and how to make a paper napkin flower. *This session is intended for youth ages 5-8.

4-H Goes Red -Get Your Blood Pumping: 2/26/2021, 6– 6:30 p.m.

Where would we be without our hearts? On this day in February, which is considered American Heart Month, everyone across the country dons the color red in order to raise and spread awareness in hopes to help eradicate heart disease and stroke. So put on your reddest red — whether it be lipstick, a t-shirt, or your favorite hat — and joins us for a fun 30-minute heart-healthy workout that’s sure to “Pump You Up” and make you smile. You’ll leave with a Super Cool “8 Song Playlist” that’s sure to inspire.

Dr. Seuss Day:  3/2/2021, 6–6:30 p.m.

Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2,
the birthday of Dr. Seuss. This year we’re partnering with the NationalEducation Association (NEA) and hosting a fun, interactive Read-Aloudevent. Join us and listen along to a few great books. When we take the time to read with children, children get the message that reading is important. A special “Mystery Reader Alert’ has been issued.

Mustache March A Flying Ace: 3/22/2021, 6–6:30 p.m.

If you haven’t heard of Mustache March, it’s all about honoring history most famous military fighter pilot, Brig. General Robin Olds. Olds’ legacy runs far deeper than a mustache. During World War II and the Vietnam war, he became a triple ace who scored at least 17 victories. Join us and learn more about this triple ace from our “Mystery Guest” who himself was a pilot during the Vietnam War. Theatre Magic Kahoot Challenge:  3/27/2021, 7–8 p.m.

The theatre has been one of the most popular forms of entertainment since the Greeks. If you have ever been to the theatre, seen a live show, or watched Hamilton on TV you know how much fun theatre can be. To celebrate World Theatre Day we’re hosting a Theater Magic Kahoot! Challenge. Come test your knowledge of Hamilton, Wicked, Les Miserables(just to name a few). Come for the fun – leave with bragging rights.

Hip, Hop 4-H Style Line Dancing: 4/14/2021, 6–7 p.m.

April is National Move More Month so turn up the volume and get ready to move. Learn top 4-H Congress dances and a few extras. The session will provide step-by-step tutorials. Participants will have the opportunity to show off their dance moves during the workshop dance-off (if you want the spotlight if not watch and cheer for those brave enough to bust a move.

We are many voices with many stories, and story-telling brings us together. The West District 4-H Officers will share special stories of the Cherokee. Each person is invited to think about their own story and how they may tell it.

4-H Yoga: 6 /10/2021, 6–6:45 p.m.

Yoga is an ancient physical and mental practice that originated in India.
The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite,
symbolizing the union of body and mind. Today it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. Yoga is a powerful tool to deal with the stress of uncertainty and isolation, as well as to maintain physical well-being. Join us for a beginner session focusing on 8 – 10 core yoga poses and the 4-H Yoga curriculum. Leave knowing how to do the 4-H Pledge in yoga possess.
