SCHEDULE CHANGES

Field Crops Meeting (POSTPONED to Feb 25) Due to the winter storm and poor driving conditions, the Corn & Soybean Grower Recognition Dinner and Educational Program scheduled for Tuesday, 2/17/2015, at Park Place Meeting center in Denton, NC, has been canceled. The program has been rescheduled at the same location and start time on Wednesday, 2/25/2015. Please call (336) 242-2080 if there will be a change in your attendance. Mushroom Workshop (POSTPONED to March 2) Due to declining weather conditions the Mushroom Workshop that was scheduled for February 24 will be held on March 2 at 5:30 at the Cooperative Extension Office. If your availability has changed due to the date change please call 318-6000. 4-H Honors Night (POSTPONED to March 10) Due to impending adverse weather the 4-H Honors night has been rescheduled for Tuesday March 10 at the Sunset Theater 6:30 PM entertains; 7:00 PM Awards ceremony

“Fresh & Local”, hosted by Barbara Linder, shows viewers how fresh, in season ingredients from in and around Randolph County can be used in exciting and new recipes!  As an agent for child nutrition, Barbara knows how important it is for children to eat healthy, but what about the parents?  Fresh & Local gives us the opportunity to reach out to the parents and teach them that eating healthy isn't boring.  Cooking with fresh ingredients makes all the difference.  We are hoping to bring you the video episodes of Fresh & Local soon.  In the meantime,  please click on any of the food links for wonderful, new recipes used in each episode. Barbara Linder is the Family and Consumer Sciences agent for child nutrition, equine, and 4-H Afterschool with NC Cooperative Extension in Randolph County. Barbara, is also a food lover and enjoys traveling throughout the country to experience the joys of food.   From Michelin starred restaurants to quaint, off the beaten path treasurers, Barbara uses her experiences to formulate recipes utilizing the goodness that grows locally in Randolph and North Carolina.   Barbara completed her undergraduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill, her Master's in Extension Education at NC State University, and is currently finishing her Doctorate in Extension Education, focusing on International Extension at NCSU.  In addition to her passion for all things culinary, she is an avid equestrian and shows competitively in dressage.
